A Booky Place

If you didn't already know, I recently started a blog for book reviews and all things book related. It'd be really lovely if you could check it out at A Booky Place, it would really mean a lot to me. I've already written 3 posts for the new blog and hope to be updating it a lot more often than I ever have with this blog.

Goodbye for now.

Over the past few months I've been MIA from blogging. Having not blogged in such a long time I've thought long and hard about whether beauty and lifestyle blogging is really what I want to be doing and I know that the answer is no. Although I absolutely love reading beauty blogs and trying out all sorts of make-up and beauty regimes, my heart really isn't in the right place. I will however be writing a new blog, focussing on book reviews called A Booky Place. Of course I won't be leaving this blog for good. I may write a few posts here and there but I will be mostly posting on my new blog. I would of course like to thank all of you who have followed this blog and read my posts, it really does mean a lot to me and of course. Although I'm still in the middle of sorting things out on my new blog if you're at all interested you can have a look at my new blog here.

Quick Update

Hi guys, just a quick post to say that I haven't disappeared off the face of the earth, I've just been so busy with revision and exams lately that I haven't really had the chance to write any posts or update my blog. Hopefully as soon as my second exam is over I'll have plenty more time to write posts and regularly update my blog.

Are any of you guys sitting exams soon? Check out the 10 top exam tips above! They've been helping  me out a lot over the past few weeks.

Much love

Spring Fever

With it being spring and soon to be summer, I thought I'd create an outfit suitable for both seasons. This outfit is simple and is something that you can just throw on if you're in a rush. It's basically just a pair of black leggings, a denim jacket on top of a plain t-shirt, a pair of trainers and a floral headband. Also keeping it simple with neutral eye shadow and a statement orange lip to finish it off.

Save The Blow Dry Moisture Eliminating Shower Cap

This week I was sent one of Save The Blow Dry's (STBD) moisture eliminating shower caps. I've always loved the idea of the shower cap but I've found that not many of them really do the job for me, they all left my hair feeling damp and definitely didn't do what they were supposed to do. However STBD's shower caps are different. They use a layer of soft micro weave towel inside a protective outer cover and voila you've got a moisture eliminating shower cap. Another perk of this cap is that you can turn it inside out to use on top of a hair mask allowing it to work more effectively, great idea right?

Now I know this all seems a little too good to be true but it's not! I tried my brand new cap for the first time last night to seal in my hair mask and again this morning to ensure that no moisture got into my hair. Before receiving the cap, I always used my hair masks without any cover on top and whilst the worked nicely on the hair, they didn't provide me with any special hair treatment but the cap changes this. As it keeps in heat, it allows the hair mask to penetrate the hair more deeply and leaves the hair feeling wonderful. This morning I tried the product out using it as a proper shower cap, I was surprised when I took it off and found my hair looking nicer than it was before I put it on. I am so unbelievably chuffed with it!

To cut a long story short, I fell deeply in love with it. It's probably one of the more expensive shower caps, with the RRP being £14.95 but are currently selling for £9.99 as part of their "mad march" promotion. I can't fault it, it's definitely worth the price.

* I did not purchase this product it was sent to me by STBD and these views are my own.

Music Edit

I'm a massive music fan. I'll listen to pretty much everything that's put in front of me, and why not? There's absolutely no point in sticking to one genre when you can explore the world of music. The music on my phone can go from One Direction to Arctic Monkeys to Joy Division to Ellie Goulding in a matter of minutes and I love it. So basically every second Monday I'll be letting you guys know what songs/albums/artists I've been listening to in the two weeks between each post.

I'm going to kick off this first post with a band that I've liked for about a year now. They featured in Series 5 of E4's hit TV show Made In Chelsea and have been one of my favourite bands ever since. Yes of course it's Young Kato. Their new track "Help Yourself" is a feel good track which makes me want to get out in the sun and have a good ol' time.

Next up a cover of Drake's "Hold On We're Going Home" now I'm not the biggest Drake fan but I have been known to enjoy a few of his songs, especially this one, so I wasn't really sure how I felt about electronic duo, ASTR, remaking it. But saying that, this cover is absolutely incredible.

If you like One Direction, you'll love 5 Seconds of Summer. The guys are a 4 piece pop-rock band from Austrailia who have just released they're debut single "She Looks So Perfect". This track is definitely a favourite of mine at the minute, it's really catchy and a song that most people will love.  Being a fan of the boys before this was released, I knew that they'd be successful as a band. The single is set to debut at number 1 this weekend on the official charts.

Now Feel Good / Various Artists - What's there not to love about an album that puts you in a good mood from the minute you press play? Nothing. There's a mix of new and old songs to perk up your mood and make you feel better. It's definitely one of my favourites at the minute. It features a few of my favourite songs like One Republic's "Counting Stars", Avicii's "Hey Brother" and One Direction's "Story of My Life"

True / Avicii - Now I know that this album isn't new but I've been listening to it a lot lately. I'm not sure if it's because it's been sunny and the mix of avicii's music and sunshine is a good one, but nonetheless I love it. I've even got my *cool* grandad listening to it! It just makes me want to get up and run! It features his new track "Addicted To You" which is an absolute banging tune.

Days Are Gone / Haïm - I've been a fan of this album for quite some time now but I've just recently started listening to it again. It's definitely got a nice summer feel to it and it makes me so excited for T in the Park! Sometimes I wish I was a Haïm sister, they're all so beautiful and talented!
